Sweet Dough




2 pkg. dry yeast
½ c. warm water (105-115 degrees)
1 ¼ c. buttermilk
2 eggs
5 ½ c. flour
½ c. butter, softened
½ c. sugar
2 t. baking powder
2 t. salt

Dissolve yeast in water in large mixer bowl. Add milk, eggs, 2 ½ cups of flour, butter, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Blend 30 seconds on low speed, scraping sides and bottom of bowl. Beat 2 minutes on medium speed. Stir I remaining flour. Knead 5 minutes on floured board. Shape as desired. Let rise in warm place (85 degrees) until doubled, about 1 hour. Bake at 375 degrees.
